It seems that despite direct competition from another bus company on the same route, KMB is still unable to provide a satisfactory service.
I take the No 681 from Ma On Shan to Central. KMB and Citybus jointly operate this service, it seems on an alternating basis. The contrast in service from the two companies could not be more stark.
KMB frequently uses old buses with small, narrow seats and not much leg-room. This for a journey that can take an hour or more. More often than not, the buses depart late from Ma On Shan.
Citybus always use newer buses, with larger, comfortable seats and more leg-room. More often than not their buses depart on time.
Yet, I am expected to pay $17 whichever bus I use.
KMB take note. It has now got to the stage where I would rather wait for a Citybus than take a KMB bus. I know other passengers do the same.
