A team of Scouts from the 221st Hong Kong Group visited community and welfare organisations in the Lai King area as part of its community service. The Scouts are inmates from the Lai King Training Centre of the Correctional Services Department (CSD). They presented home-made lanterns to the aged and inmates of voluntary organisations to help them with the Mid- Autumn Festival celebrations. Through Scout training and activities, they learned to acquire self-reliance, self-discipline, confidence and sense of responsibility in turning over a new leaf, said a CSD spokesman. The Scouts and Guides of the CSD will perform in a musical rally on October 17 and 18 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai. Proceeds from ticket sales for the musical event will be donated to charities. The 221st Group was set up in 1986.
