Most doctors eligible to vote in the medical constituency want to retain the single-seat, single-vote system in geographical polls, a survey has found.

The survey, conducted by provisional legislator Dr Leong Che-hung among registered doctors and dentists, showed 81 per cent preferred the single-seat, single-vote system adopted in the 1995 elections.

Seventy per cent of respondents were opposed to the proportional representation proposed in the electoral bill and only 21 per cent supported it.

About 60 per cent of respondents rejected limiting foreign passport holders to 12 specified functional constituencies.
