No threat

Angelo Paratico of Kowloon, asked if the Octopus card is safe to be carried in view of its magnetic field (South China Morning Post, September 12).

We would like to assure our passengers that the Octopus card poses absolutely no threat to personal safety, as the radio frequency at a very low power is generated only when the card is placed in the target area.
