Most people oppose new restrictions on the hoisting of Taiwanese flags and celebrations of the Double Tenth anniversary, a survey found. About 60 per cent of the respondents to the University of Hong Kong poll said the Government should not prohibit the national flag of the Republic of China flying in the SAR. Almost one-quarter of the respondents, or 23 per cent, supported a ban. A similar percentage of the 526 respondents, 56.6 per cent, said the flag of the Taiwan-based Kuomintang should not be banned. One-quarter said it should be prohibited.
