MCC Laws of Cricket shall apply except as follows: Each team has only six players.

A game has one inning of five overs each per team.

Each member of the fielding team - except pre-nominated wicketkeeper - must bowl one six- ball over.

Under-arm bowling is prohibited.

Wide balls and no-balls result in two extras to the batting side - and an extra ball for the bowling side. Any runs scored from a no-ball (off the bat, byes or leg-byes) will be credited, in addition to the two extras for the no-ball.

A batsman must retire once his score equals or exceeds 31 runs. If all other batsmen are dismissed, the retired batsmen can resume their innings.

The team compiling the highest score wins. If the totals are the same, the team losing the fewest wickets shall be judged winners. In the event of both teams being equal, the side which has scored most runs excluding extras shall win. Two points awarded to winner.

One substitution allowed for fielding side for injury.

PLAYING FORMAT The nine teams have been seeded as follows: 1, West Indies; 2, Australia; 3, England; 4, Sri Lanka; 5, India; 6, Pakistan; 7, South Africa; 8, Bangladesh; 9, Hong Kong.

  After that they were placed into three groups of three. The groups are: Red Group - West Indies, Sri Lanka, South Africa. Blue Group - Australia, India, Bangladesh. Green Group - England, Pakistan, Hong Kong.

  The teams play a series of round-robin matches with the top two teams from each group advancing to stage two.

  Stage Two will consist of the Bradman and Sobers Groups each including three teams decided by a second round of seeding. A round-robin will again be played and the group winners will meet in the Cup final. The second placed teams will contest the Plate final and the third placed teams do not play again. The three teams that come last in the first round, advance to the Cowdrey Group where they also play a round-robin to decide the Bowl winner.



Rules and playing format
