Today's office is packed with many devices essential for business: a facsimile machine, a computer (usually more than one), a printer, a copier and possibly a network. There are sometimes other bits and pieces as well, such as a scanner or a colour printer for creating proofs.
All of this can get quite complicated, with each device coming from a different maker. Konica thinks it can help.
The Konica 7050 is a digital copier that can be used as a printer as well.
According to Patricia Francis, marketing manager for Inchcape Repromac office products, the distributor of the Konica 7050 in Hong Kong, the machine can output 51 A4-size pages a minute.
'It is much faster than a laser printer. A laser printer also cannot print on both sides of the paper easily,' Ms Francis said. The cost of paper was also a consideration. 'Paper for a copier is three to four times cheaper than paper used with a laser printer,' she said.
The Konica 7050 is designed to work with DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, Macintosh and Unix. It uses a special printer controller, the IP-201, that makes this high compatibility possible.
