Exco man joins Bank of China

Outgoing Land Fund chief executive Tim Chung Shui-ming is to join the Bank of China Group.

Mr Chung, who is also an Executive Councillor, said his new role would help his work in Exco and his career.

But he dismissed suggestions of a conflict of interest in being seen as the Bank of China's representative on Exco.

'I take part in Exco in a personal capacity. I did not work for the bank when I was invited to join Exco, so there is no question that I am the bank's representative,' he said.

Exco, he added, comprised members from other banks and the business sector, which reflected the diversity of Hong Kong's culture.

Mr Chung was a senior executive at the Nanyang Commercial Bank before taking the Land Fund post.
