Four leading universities from the UK will host seminar on higher education opportunities in Britain for Hong Kong students.

The University of Birmingham, Leeds Metropolitan University, Oxford Brookes University and Robert Gordon University will be presenting information undergraduate and postgraduate study.

The seminar and discussions will take place on October 17 from 7-9 pm, Room 406 Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. An exhibition will also be held from 12- 7 pm on October 18 and 19 at Room 404 in the centre.

The traditional University of Birmingham, highly rated by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, achieved outstanding results in the 1996 research assessment.

The other three universities - Leeds Metropolitan, Oxford Brookes and Robert Gordon - attained university status in 1992. With a century of history behind them, they enjoy a good reputation among Hong Kong students.

Leeds Metropolitan University, in the north of England, is now one of Britain's largest new universities with about 22,000 students. It counts among the most popular of the new universities with 50,000 applications for its available places.
