APPRENTICE Alex Yu Kin-sing was last night suspended for 28 days for his controversial handling of Action Win at Happy Valley on Wednesday night - exactly one year after receiving a similar ban for the same offence.

Husband-and-wife riding team Eric Legrix and Sheri P.W. Kong were partners in misfortune as both received three-day bans for careless riding, leaving French trainer Patrick Biancone minus his stable riders.

In a busy night for racing's policemen at Happy Valley last night, Yu was found guilty under Rule 131 (ii) of not taking all permissible measures on favourite Action Win in the opening event at the Valley last midweek.

According to Wong Tang-ping, who trains Action Win and is Yu's master, there will be no appeal against the ban which runs until after the February 4 meeting next year.

Eric Saint-Martin is out until early next year for reckless riding and last night compatriot Legrix was in trouble for an incident in the fifth event.

Winner Telecome Boss, with Robbie Fradd up, and My Friends Say, ridden by Richard Hughes, were tightened by second-placed Lekker ridden by Legrix. The French ace, who rode a winner earlier in the evening, was found guilty of careless riding.
