Should give help to North Korea

I was shocked to learn from press reports that some people in famine-hit North Korea have turned to cannibalism.

The reports have not yet been confirmed and are still just rumours, but if they turn out to be true then we are talking about a human catastrophe.

I find it heart-breaking to learn that Kim Jong-il is allowing so many people to perish. The situation is more serious than during the famine in Ethiopia.

The Government sees people dying every day. It should at least do something about it, like providing food and financial aid. We are human beings who should show love and compassion to those suffering misfortunes.

In the past 10 years we have shown a lot of concern and given a lot of money to the Vietnamese. We enjoy a modern and comfortable life in Hong Kong. Why don't we give a little help to the North Koreans? As Jesus said, all people are our brothers and sisters.
