A 12-year-old boy was stripped and sexually assaulted in a toilet cubicle at Cityplaza after he helped his attacker find the public lavatory, a court heard yesterday.
Mr Justice Thomas Gall called the assault on the boy 'extremely serious', and ordered psychiatric and background reports on See Tak-man, 31.
The engineer yesterday pleaded guilty in the Court of First Instance to indecent assault. He admitted he had sexually abused the boy, whom he met in a lift at the Taikoo Shing shopping mall.
The boy's mother had left him alone with $20 and told him to play in the Whimsy centre while she shopped. They arranged to meet later outside a store, but when his mother did not arrive on time the schoolboy wandered off.
He was alone in the lift when See entered and stood behind him.
See reached forward, touched the schoolboy several times and asked him where the toilets were, prosecutor John McMaster said.
The boy said he was going to the toilet himself and offered to show the engineer where to find them.
