AST Computer has released a powerful line of notebooks powered with the latest Pentium chip for mobile PCs. The Ascentia M series comes in 200 MHz or 233 MHz Pentiums with MMX, and a choice of 12.1-inch super video graphics array, thin-film transistor (SVGA TFT) or 13-inch extended graphics array (XGA) TFT. The laptops also have 20X CD-ROM drives and Intel's 430TX chipset with 512 level II cache suitable to handle demanding software and graphics applications. The line is priced between $24,500 and $39,500.
