1-MIN READ1-MIN

IT is tipped as the society wedding of next summer - the match linking Christy Murray, daughter of Deutsche Bank taipan Simon Murray, and Nicholas Powell, the son of Jardine Matheson director and former Downing Street adviser Sir Charles Powell.

Ms Murray, 24, who works for the Conde Nast magazine empire, is the youngest daughter of Hutchison Whampoa, Cheung Kong and Orient Overseas director Mr Murray and his wife, Jennifer, who piloted a helicopter around the world this year.

Her 28-year-old fiance is the younger son of Sir Charles and Lady Carla Powell and spent five years working at Jardine's in Hong Kong.

Sir Charles is reputed to have encouraged former Governor Chris Patten to accept the posting in 1992.

Mr Patten, his wife, Lavender, and former British deputy prime minister Michael Heseltine are expected to be guests at the wedding in May.
