Oxford gets Dunhill tribute
Alfred Dunhill's leather products for this season include the Oxford collection inspired by the traditions and architecture of the university city.
Helen Willerton, an Alfred Dunhill spokesman, said: 'The whole collection is practical, yet stylish. The leather is soft and smooth to touch, yet is tough enough to ensure endurance.' A softer, more tactile, natural-grained calfskin has been used with a unique aroma and feel.
The collection includes attache cases with matching men's bags, business cases and portfolios, as well as a number of wallets and billfolds.
'All items have a detailed finish associated with all of our products,' Ms Willerton said.
The manufacturing process is a detailed one - from the first rigorous examination and selection of skins to defining of each part for cutting, through to the hand assembly and the fine finishing touches such as hand-scored edges on all the pockets. Products are lined with a jacquard fabric carrying the distinctive Dunhill name.
'Finishing touches are impeccable with a newly designed oval-shaped gold-plated brass logo, and brass corner tips on wallets and billfolds.' Fitments on larger items are made from highly polished solid brass for maximum strength.
