Weeping uncontrollably, the mother of the man shot dead by a police officer demanded justice yesterday.

Mrs Chan could not understand how an officer who required psychological treatment was allowed to carry a gun.

'The entire police force is responsible. Why was this officer who is psychologically unbalanced allowed to use a gun?' she said.

And she added that she did not care about compensation.

'Give me $10 million, I still won't get him back. I have heard reports that there might have been a struggle and my son was trying to take his gun,' she said.

'Why would he do that inside a police station full of armed officers, when he could have done it on the street when he was arrested? My son did nothing wrong.' Chan Kwok-keung, 24, was shot three times in an interview room in Aberdeen Police Station.
