MORE than 20,000 Form 5 students received tips on preparing for the Hongkong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in a series of seminars organised by Hok Yau Club.
Four seminars conducted to analyse past examination questions and study techniques were held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium and Hongkong Coliseum recently.
Experienced teachers talked on various subjects including arts, science and commerce.
Students were reminded to avoid common mistakes and to answer questions precisely. They were also briefed on important study topics and how to memorise notes quickly and concisely.
Discussion sessions were also available for students who had questions about the seminars.
A representative from the Hongkong Examination Authority talked about common misunderstandings of the examination regulations and explained the grading system.
The guest-of-honour, Mrs Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai, former chairman of the Education Commission, shared her experience in examinations with the students.
