Comedians and cellists, marching bands and mime all added to the fun and fanfare at a special concert catering to families Comedy and quality music was the combination which entertained those attending a family concert at Happy Valley Sports Ground.
Tens of thousands turned out to enjoy the Symphony Under the Stars concert which was organised by the Provisional Urban Council.
The annual outdoor musical extravaganza was aimed at boosting family ties and giving locals a chance to get together for a variety of healthy activities.
The programme included an impressive array of entertainment ranging from clown and mime acts to puppetry and dancing. There also were marching bands and acrobatics displays.
The Symphony Under the Stars highlight was an open-air concert by the 95-strong Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductor was Yip Wing- sie.
The event was hosted by television comedians Eric Tsang and Jerry Lamb.
