Teenage sensation Rosemary Vandenbrouke (above) has taken the local modelling scene by storm since she won the 1996 Elite Model Look of the Year competition at just 14. I remember seeing Rosemary, now 16, walk down the catwalk in that competition. Boy, has she come a long way. Much more confident and polished, it is hard to believe that this was the same girl a year ago who garnered loud cheers and applause from the audience with her gawky high steps and turns. Today, Rosemary is the youngest model working in Hong Kong. She has put her studies aside for a while to pursue her modelling career. The daughter of a French father and Singaporean mother, Rosemary was born in Hong Kong and was discovered by an agent who persuaded her and her mother to enter the Elite Model Look contest. 'The best part about modelling is meeting people, making friends and being able to wear beautiful designer clothes,' says Rosemary, who looks good in anything. She plans to go to New York next year where she has already been booked to do some catalogue work.
