DEBONAIR Patrick Biancone grabbed the glory on Ladies' Day with a superb treble and was among the first to congratulate his young apprentice Carole Yu when she won the final Sha Tin event on a 44-1 outsider.
Biancone produced juvenile Serve And Volley (4-1) to floor raging favourite Gulch Lightning (6-5) in the opening event and carried off the featured Ladies' Purse with bottomweight Forest Spring (8-1) who beat stablemate and debutant Johan Cruyff (7-2).
In between, topweight Masterkova (2-1 favourite) continued his spectacular progress to the top by winning the Class Two fourth event.
The nightcap was a bittersweet affair for the Frenchman who sent out Tequila Pop (2-1 favourite) and had high hopes of a winning foursome. But the seasonal debutant finished distressed and an anxious Biancone had to cut back on immediate post-race interviews to see his rising star taken care of.
But he had time to congratulate claimer Yu, who returned on Pride And Joy to the roar of the crowd and huge cheers from fellow jockeys lined along the balcony of the weighing room.
Trainer Wong Yu-on provided the winner - just as he had done when a similar scenario unfolded two years previously.
