Urgent repairs to On Ning Garden not completed by the developer by November 28 will be rectified by the Government.
Deputy Secretary for Housing Leung Chin-man said the Government would sue the developer of the Tseung Kwan O estate to recover any costs incurred.
The Government wrote to the developer, Hening Investment, on October 31, demanding the repair of the development's defects attributable to soil settlement within eight weeks.
Urgent defects were to be completed within four weeks.
After the provisional legislature housing panel meeting, the chairman of the Incorporated Owners of On Ning Garden, Fong Ming-tak, said he welcomed the Government's undertaking.
'But the Government did not say whether it would conduct repair works on the remaining 100-odd defects,' he said.
