Odyssey of the Mind (OM) invites local students to get their creative faculties into gear and design Hong Kong's OM Pin of the Year for 1998. OM, an educational programme based in the United States, aims to develop students' creative thinking and problem-solving abilities through teamwork. OM was introduced to Hong Kong in 1995 by the Education Department and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Hong Kong sent two teams to the OM World Finals last year. Participating teams from across the globe will present their pins at next year's OM World Finals, where pin trading is a key event and is popular for making friends and starting collections. Students from Form One to Form Seven are welcome to enter. Contestants must submit their entries before December 15. Details of the competition can be found on application forms which are available at the following places: Curriculum Development Institute, Education Department, Room 1306, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai.
