Metallurgists see profits rise

The metallurgical industry saw some profits rise in the first nine months of this year, the Financial News said yesterday. Of 75 key state-owned metallurgical firms, 21 notched up profits of more than 30 million yuan each in the period, the newspaper quoted the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry saying. The newspaper said 20 other enterprises were in the red. It did not account for the rest or give a figure for total profits or losses.
