TUNG CHEE-HWA is expected to meet President Jiang Zemin privately next week in Vancouver. The two will be in the Canadian city for the annual gathering of Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation countries. Mr Tung said he would also exchange views with regional leaders on the financial turmoil in Southeast Asian financial markets. 'It is a welcome opportunity for all of us to be there. We will also be looking beyond the current turmoil, looking further down the road on how we can expand our co-operation both from the economic point of view and from the monetary point of view,' Mr Tung said. 'I share the optimism which has been expressed, that despite the current turmoil, the 21st century will still be vibrant, very prosperous and very successful.'
