In the space of a short 12 months, the Spice Girls have become one of pop music's most successful groups.
With 18 million in global album sales and eight million- plus for singles, the Spice Girls have brought glamour back to pop with their new album, Spiceworld.
The group recorded the set at an on-location studio during breaks between filming the GBP10 million (HK$130 million) Spiceworld - The Movie in London. It's due for release on December 26.
Spiceworld reflects the fab females' standing as one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment, successfully combining funk, rock, disco, soul, pop - and even a big-band sound.
It also draws influences and themes from around the globe and heralds the beginning of more solo spots for individual members.
The monster hit Spice Up Your Life sends out a party invitation to the world and whisks you to a South American carnival with its Latin beats and pulsating samba rhythms.
The track was written and produced by the band, with help from usual collaborators Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe.
