Wharf Holdings' telecom offshoot, New T&T, has launched a joint promotion with Hongkong Bank aimed at widening it customer base.
Users of Hongkong Bank personal credit cards who sign up for New T&T's 007 service will be entitled to a series of offers cutting the cost of making international calls.
The company has 285,000 registered lines that use its discounted international direct dial service (IDD), split equally between business and residential.
Hongkong Bank's customer base for its personal credit card is more than one million, said the bank's head of cards, Geoff Bruce.
New T&T president Leslie Harris said the bank's holders of personal credit cards were the sort of 'prestigious customers' the company was trying to attract.
'The expansion of our customer base is the prime motivation [behind the deal],' he said.
