I refer to the letter from Caesar Chan (South China Morning Post, November 26), regarding the coin shortage in Hong Kong at the moment, and would like to apologise to him and all our customers for the severe inconvenience it is causing them.

We are in close contact with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority about the situation and hope that the authority will soon bring about a resolution of the problem all retailers are facing, especially as we move into the festive season.

We are talking to Creative Star at the moment about using the Octopus card in our stores within the MTR/KCR network and hope that we can soon introduce this method of payment for our customers.

Let me assure readers we are doing all we can to make it easier for our customers (and our staff and franchisees) to make shopping at 7-Eleven a daily pleasure.
