Nokia Oy, a Finnish telecommunications-equipment maker, says it has received a network expansion order from the Beijing Telecommunications Administration worth US$70 million. The order, the fifth expansion for the company's global systems for mobile telecommunications, or GSM network, includes high capacity mobile switching centres and home location registers. The expansion would be operational by August next year, with deliveries beginning soon, Nokia said.
