We were saddened to read in the columns of the South China Morning Post on November 26 and 27, about the tragic loss of life by suicide of eight people in Hong Kong. There does seem to have been an increasing number of suicide deaths over recent months.
We would like to draw attention to our Suicide Prevention services, which are available every day of the year. The Samaritans Multi-Lingual Service (Chai Wan Branch) is available 24 hours per day. Among our trained volunteers we do have some Cantonese and Mandarin speakers. The Samaritans Cantonese Speaking Service (Tung Tau Branch) is available from 1pm to 7am on weekdays and from 7pm to 7am on weekends.
We can be contacted on 2896 0000 for Multi-Lingual Service and on 2382 0000 for Cantonese Speaking Service.
