Bus-only lane benefits public

I refer to the letter headlined, 'Two-way plea', which appeared in the South China Morning Post, on November 13.

I understand that mains-laying works which are being carried out along Robinson Road might have caused inconvenience to residents and road-users nearby.

To ensure smooth traffic flow in the vicinity, the contractor has been reminded to adhere to the temporary traffic arrangement as agreed.

The bus-only lane at Caine Road (westbound) serves to improve the reliability and efficiency of bus services.

It has benefited the public at large.

Since a large number of bus routes use Caine Road, the suggestion to cancel the bus-only lane will definitely affect bus services.
