Fin Fin on Teo, the Magic Planet For PC CD-ROMs Not so long ago, a planet was discovered which was very similar to Earth. Named Teo, this planet had air and water - and life.

 It was a beautiful planet covered with inhabited forests.

 All this forms a fascinating backdrop for the experimental multimedia game, Fin Fin on Teo, the Magic Planet.

  It was developed using new artificial-life technology.

  The main character, Fin Fin, is an adorable cross between a dolphin and a bird.

  The game falls within the 'edutainment' category and is certainly suitable for children to play.

  The aim is learning to develop good relationships through interacting with Fin Fin.

  And he is more than just a cartoon character - he is intelligent and has a personality. Although Fin Fin 'lives' and acts independently, he also reacts to those who care for him.

  He displays a wide range of behaviour which reflects the actions of game-players.

  If you give him consistent, loving attention, Fin Fin will befriend and entertain you. He often makes noises like a dolphin and sometimes breaks into melodic song.

  But if Fin Fin is neglected or subjected to a harsh tone of voice, or taunting or sudden movements, he squeals with fright and retreats to the secluded safety of his nest.

  Prolonged bad behaviour will cause him to withdraw and he may even cry.

  To communicate with Fin Fin, players need to use a SmartSensor device (included with the game), a small sphere which sits on top of a PC and captures sound and motion commands. It serves as Fin Fin's eyes and ears.

    The keyboard allows a player to dispense the creature's favourite food, the Elmo fruit.

 The game runs on a PC with a Pentium processor of 75 MHz or faster, 16 MB of RAM, 2 x CD-ROM drive, Windows 95 and a game-port.

  MEGAHINT: If Fin Fin wants to sleep, let him. He can become sick and turn grey if he does not get enough rest.

  MEGAHINT: Remember to speak softly, as loud noises can scare him.
