A speech day guest-of-honour won applause by appealing to benefactors to install air-conditioning in the school hall.

Deputy Director of Home Affairs Lui Hau-Tuen made the plea while addressing those gathered together at the Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen Secondary School in Tsuen Wan.
He told students they should treasure every chance they had to learn.
And he said youngsters should always value their teachers' and parents' support.
Principal Chow Zee-lisu said the school was trying everything possible to improve students' English standards. Teachers wanted to inspire pupils to master all the skills they would need to contribute to Hong Kong society, she said.

Mr Lui presented certificates to Form Five and Form Seven students.
