I refer to the letter headlined, 'Toilet disgrace', from Bill Galvin, which appeared in the South China Morning Post, on December 9.
The cleaning condition of public toilets at Immigration Headquarters in Immigration Tower is a concern shared by both the public and this department.
That is why we keep on reviewing the situation and explore possible improvement measures from time to time.
As regards Mr Galvin's observation about the behaviour of the cleaner at the male toilet on the third floor, of Immigration Tower, the Building Management Office has been asked to give guidance and instructions to the cleaning contractor on the proper way of cleaning the toilets. Currently, air-freshening devices are being installed in the public toilets. We will monitor the situation.
