The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of the Democratic Patriotic Movement in China and the April 5 Action Group should be disbanded because of 'subversive acts' against Beijing, says a High Court writ.

The writ, filed by Tse Chi-kin, also demands $10 million compensation from alliance chairman Szeto Wah, $3 million from Democratic Party chief Martin Lee Chu-ming and $3 million from party member Cheung Man-kwong.

Mr Tse accuses the organisations of libelling mainland leaders and inciting the public.

Mr Szeto said it was not for a civil court to decide if the groups' acts were subversive. Legislation on Article 23 of the Basic Law, which deals with subversion, sedition, treason and secession, had yet to be introduced, he said.
