Federal Express Corp (FedEx) has announced the appointment of Ogden Aviation (Hong Kong) as its agent for ground-handling operations when the new airport at Chek Lap Kok opens next year.
FedEx regional vice-president John Quinn said the global experience of the two corporations complemented and blended well with each other, allowing FedEx to provide the best-quality service at the best value to customers.
'Ogden has been able to put together a customised ground-handling package to meet our specific requirements,' he said.
There would be close co-operation between FedEx and Ogden to ensure that the high service standards incorporated into the contract were met.
Mr Quinn signed an agreement with Ogden's managing director Mackenzie Grant recently.
Ogden specialises in providing comprehensive ground handling, related aviation support and infrastructure development.
FedEx Hong Kong's managing director David Ross said customers would benefit from Ogden's infrastructure, which would be in place weeks before the airport opened, fully commissioned and operational, with a team of Ogden staff standing by for the first flight.
