Speech day activities at King Ling College were conducted entirely in Putonghua to stress the importance the school places on the language.
Founded in 1994 by the King Ling Foundation for Culture and Education, the Tseung Kwan O school admitted its first batch of Form Four students in 1995. They sat the HKCEE this year.
Curriculum Development Institute chief executive Leung Yat-ming urged Form Five graduates of King Ling to excel in meeting the challenges of the new millennium.
He said the 21st century demanded individuals who were independent and progressive in their thinking, physically fit, creative and highly adaptable to change.
They should have an international perspective and be concerned with global issues, Dr Leung said.
He praised the school's efforts in promoting Putonghua and civic education.
