Colourful owner Sunny Yam has set his sights on the last two legs of the Sprint Championship following his decision to bring Australian sprinter Adeewin to Hong Kong.

The multiple Group-winner was raced by Yam in Australia where she was in the care of Sydney-based trainer Bobby Thomsen.

Connections hit the headlines when Australian Jockey Club chief stipendiary steward Ray Murrihy hauled in local jockey Jackie C. K. Tse after a poor ride on the filly in a Group One event three months ago.

The arrival in Hong Kong this week of Adeewin, who will be trained by David Hayes, was the culmination of several weeks of talks between the owner and trainer.

'She will be racing for me and I am delighted that Adeewin is here and will be trained by David,' Yam said.

'Adeewin is an out-and-out sprinter and both David and I feel that there are some very good races for her here.

'As long as she acclimatises - and that is very important - we are definitely aiming for the last two legs of the Sprint Championship.' That would see Adeewin racing down the 1,000-metre straight at Sha Tin in the Centenary Cup on March 7, and in the Chairman's Prize over 1,200 metres on May 9.
