Respected by 'friend' and 'foe'

I have just learned with immense sadness of the untimely death of Ray Faulkner QC, SC.

He was a highly competent and respected member of the legal profession and had taken Silk in April of last year.

I had the great privilege of having him as my pupil when he decided to go into private practice, having previously taught law at Hong Kong University for some years. As so often happens the 'pupil master' learned more from the 'pupil' than vice versa! He had many friends in the profession and was universally respected by 'friend' and 'foe' alike both for his ability and fairness.

His tragic death is a great loss to the profession and he will be greatly missed.
