THE Chung Ying Theatre Company is working on a series of educational programmes for children and teenagers.
The Storytelling Workshop, now touring various child-care institutes, is meant for children from four to seven years. For senior secondary students, the play Skin by Dennis Foon will tour schools from late March.
Chung Ying's Yuen Che-hung and Wong Yuen-ling have written The Story Of The Little Dinosaur specially for the young audience. The workshop stories involve the children in games woven into the narrative.
Besides touring various kindergartens and child-care centres, Chung Ying will also give a public show at the International Children Arts Festival 1993 in July and August.
The touching and thought-provoking play Skin will tour secondary schools in spring.
Skin tells the separate stories of three young people growing up in Canada. Focusing on the personal difficulties brought about by racism, the play tries to create an understanding of the dynamics of oppression.
