Stena Line says freight volumes measured by the numbers of trucks, railway cars and containers, rose 12 per cent to 1.1 million teu last year. 'The rise mainly came on the Stena Line route between Dover and Calais, following a tunnel fire in November 1996 which hit Eurotunnel's capacity,' the ferry firm said.
