$100,000 reward for top athletes
Hong Kong's top track and field athletes will be vying for training grants worth a total of $100,000 in the season-long Watson's Athletic King Championships, which start with the first round next month.
The most dominant male athlete in any track and field event will receive $20,000 in training grants.
The top female athlete will receive $15,000 while the top men's and women's junior athletes will collect $6,000 each.
Points will be tallied at the end of the fourth and final round of the competition in October.
The first round of the competition kicks off on February 8 at the Wan Chai Sports Ground.
The other rounds are scheduled on the weekends of April 18 and 19 and May 10, also at the Wan Chai Sports Ground.
Grants will be awarded to the top three athletes in the men's and women's opens and the top five athletes in both the men's junior and women's junior competitions.
