Africans scrap IDR rules

Hong Kong exporters will no longer need to provide import duty reports (IDRs) when exporting goods to African countries in a move aimed at boosting the region's trade.

A Nigerian newspaper reported the scrapping of IDRs from all African countries and 14 others was in line with measures to ensure goods are cleared without delay.

'For all imports from countries where IDRs are still required, the existing procedure for clearance of goods shall continue,' the statement said.
