One of America's most famous contemporary artists was in town recently to present a sculpture to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation. The MTRC is seeking a sculpture for its new Central station and Frank Stella (pictured) was one of six artists it chose to make a presentation - and fingers crossed he will be picked. The new station will run trains to the new airport at Chek Lap Kok. Although Frank is known for his geometric, colourful paintings, he told me that for the past five years he has been more involved with sculptures. The shy but witty artist said he loved visiting Hong Kong and found it very comfortable and similar to New York, but more compact with a more tense atmosphere.
