Apart from designing buildings, Renaissance man Tao Ho (below) is also passionate about preserving the environment and rare species. He tells me there are only 1,000 pandas left in the wild in China. Tao, who designed the SAR flag, was also recently awarded the Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum in recognition of his outstanding efforts to bridge Western and Chinese cultures. 'People in Hong Kong should try to re-evaluate their priorities. There is nothing wrong with being a financial centre so long as it is not the only thing,' he said. 'Power and money is transitory.
