Hongkong shuttlers were also featured in the finals of the men's singles, women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles competitions.
Olympian Chan Kin-ngai succumbed to the pressure in the men's singles final and was beaten 15-8, 15-4 by Andropov while the territory's number one woman player Wong Chun-fun lost 11-7, 11-2 to Russia's Andrie Vskaya.
