Compaq launches two new laptops to meet user needs
Compaq Computer Hong Kong will next month release two new laptops it feels reflect the needs of mobile computer users.
The company will be focusing heavily on laptops this year as it believes this market sector will be a growth area.
Part of Compaq's Presario series, the 1681 features many new technological developments.
A Compaq spokesperson said: 'The Presario 1681 is power-packed with a 233 MHz processor with MMX technology, 32 MB SDRAM, 2.1GB hard drive and enhanced battery technology for increased productivity.' The Presario 1681 is aimed at both the business user on the move and the high-end home user. It also features 128-bit accelerated graphics with up to 16 million colours, an integrated 2 MB video memory and an active matrix screen.
It also allows users to play CD audio without booting up the PC.
According to the company, the other new laptop, the Presario 1220, offers 'unprecedented value in a fully-loaded multimedia notebook'.
