A jobless man who had no money to buy his two daughters new clothes for the Lunar New Year, jumped 24 floors from a Kwun Tong building yesterday.

Lee Siu-wo, 48, was found unconscious outside Tsui Mui House, Tsui Ping Estate, and was dead on arrival at United Christian Hospital.

He left a wife and daughters aged one and seven, who live in a fourth-floor flat in Tsui On House.

A relative said Lee lost his job as a transport worker about two years ago and was suffering from the stress of raising his family. He underwent a psychological check-up but doctors said he had no mental problems.

Late last year, the family lived on welfare and received about $8,000 a month.
