A bogus social worker stole the life-savings of a 91-year-old widow yesterday. Man Wan, who lives alone in Tung Tau Estate, Wong Tai Sin, let in a man in his late 30s claiming he was there to help her. But instead the intruder stole $18,000 from her drawer. Ms Man had saved the money to buy a wheelchair and to hire help when she needed it. 'I don't know where my money is now. I've lost everything,' said Ms Man, whose husband and all four children were killed during the Japanese occupation of World War II. She said she thought the man was from a charity organising Lunar New Year activities. The Social Welfare Department yesterday gave Ms Man about $1,000 - her social security payments for the rest of the month. A newspaper has donated a wheelchair to Ms Man following the incident.
