A US$1.4 million research project has been launched in Beijing to help the People's Bank of China manage and monitor foreign-funded insurance companies. The project is funded by foreign insurers British Royal & Sun Alliance and US Lincoln National, handled by accounting firm Ernst & Young. Research plans will be made to analyse current laws and regulations on foreign insurers operating in the mainland, aiming to strengthen monitoring the industry's management and operation.
