A small-time crook who raped a woman while he was infected with a venereal disease was jailed for 8.5 years yesterday. Bobby Tang Chi-ho, 25, used a series of calculated lies to lure a woman celebrating her 20th birthday into his bedroom, Mrs Justice Verina Bokhary said. He met his victim at a Tsim Sha Tsui karaoke bar on May 9. Tang told the woman her girlfriend had asked him to look after her, the Court of First Instance heard. At the end of the night he lured her back to his Mongkok flat, and 'into your bedroom where you raped her', Mrs Justice Bokhary said. But the story took a strange twist when the victim moved into Tang's flat the day after the attack. She moved out again after spending a day there. While the victim was in his flat he took her bank card and withdrew $60,000. Tang pleaded guilty to theft but denied rape. Police confirmed he had been infected with gonorrhoea and did not use a condom.
